I thought a true "Push" server would have to use your phone number to send a non-data message to your phone notifying it of a new message, eliminating the need to be constantly connected to the internet. Anyone else know?

Hm, I may disable push and see what happens then, I'm only using it to keep my calendar and contacts up to date, and from what I read if you disable push you still get a manual sync when you open the calendar or contacts application.
I charged my phone half the day yesterday, unplugged at like 3pm, by 10pm I was at half and by the morning I had the 10% warning.
