I don't understand why these aren't available in Canada yet, or maybe they are but I'm not aware of it:

Almost every single apartment in China has these things in multiple rooms. We have 3 in our appartment. They are not too big, mounted up high on the wall and are much cheaper than those portable A/C's I see on the Home Depot website. They have timer controls, remotes, some are CE approved and cool a room down quickly.

Maybe it's because the fan for them is quite large and must be mounted on the outside of the building and the city bylaws would not allow it?

Has anyone seen something like that in Canada?
