Well how do you respond to something like that? Seems pretty clear as you seemed to get it.
Anyways, it doesn't sound like anybody is going to change your mind.
During the 1980 Olympics, I know a popular Western Nation supporting genocide/beheading/cannibaling (more then what happened here, actually cooking and human intestines) / mass executions etc... but that was our own community, so it was ignored.
Quite frankly, I think this PETA thing is a leap of faith. But you know what, it appears some people believe in it and I don't believe I am self-righteous enough to tell people what to think or to criticize how they relate world interests to their own interests. But, I understand opinions and criticism are an every day human insurance, but I was just pointing out some irony I see on this board - again, by people who have opinions who I'm not going to tell them what to think or how they relate information.
