I'm in a 4-plex apartment with my setup I listed above. 6-8 feet between tv and couch. Speakers aren't either over or under powered, just fine and a nice small size too. What Thor mentioned will do just fine as well. Spend the extra few dollars and go with a separate speaker package and receiver.
