Default 2008 College Football Thread

The 2008 College Football season is less than a month away, so I figured it was time to start the discussion!

The most recent rankings I could find are linked here:
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/column...ark&id=3459463

1. Georgia
2. Ohio State
3. Oklahoma
4. USC
5. Florida

I think this is the season that the SEC cannibalizes itself. They have 5 teams in the top 15, and the even numbered years are the toughest for defending champ LSU. They play road games at Florida, Auburn, South Carolina, and Arkansas.

LSU has a weak non-conference schedule as well, playing no BCS conference teams (App. St., Troy, N. Texas, Tulane) though App. St. and Troy are no slouches. Add in the questions at QB, and I think they are likely out of the BCS picture. The Tigers have the talent to beat anybody, but it will be a challenge to put it all together this season.

Personally, I think Ohio State will play either USC or Oklahoma for the crystal football in January. With no SEC team represented in the BCS Championship Game, the Buckeyes may just have a shot at winning...

Geaux Tigers!!!

Edit: Just to make things interesting, my upset special is Colorado over West Virginia on Sept. 18.
