Third party developers and publishers will not be able to ignore the largest userbase very long if they want to maximize profits. People were saying the same thing about the DS three years ago (ala no good third party games), and now you can find a plethora of good third party offerings on it.

The PS1 had terrible third party support until its userbase could no longer be ignored.
But why spend millions of dollars developing a big budget game when you could could just push out some low budget mini-game collection and make a ton more money?

The reality of the Wii is that a VAST majority of the owners aren't gamers, and aren't going to buy games that gamers would buy. Even Nintendo themselves is realizing this, if you watched their E3 press conference. EVERY fantastic looking third party game is coming to 360 and PS3, but not Wii. And no, that's not just first person shooters. Prince of Persia, Mirror's Edge, Fallout 3, Resident Evil 5, Final Fantasy XIII, Street Fighter IV, Soul Calibur IV, Dead Space, Bionic Commando... all without mentioning Microsoft and Sony's first party stuff, which blows Nintendo's out of the water.
