Windshield coverage is a separate entity from the rest of your insurance, with a separate deductible, and often through a separate company than your regular insurance (often the company is owned by one of the major windshield replacement places, who will require you to use their shop for the replacement).
Because they're separate, making a claim on a windshield replacement won't affect your regular insurance.
