It so happened that the two cashiers had finished dealing with their customers at the same time just as the couple were about to walk up and order. What I expected was that the couple would go to one cashier and then I would go to the other cashier. Nope. The guy went to one cashier and the girl went to the other. They both proceeded to order sandwich combos. So now, instead of one cashier being tied up with the couple both are. So the entire line has to wait about 3-5 mins while both of the sandwiches are made and paid for. All I wanted was a coffee and I am sure there were others in line that only wanted a coffee as well.

Why would they do that? I think it was rude and inconsiderate. If I was as some other place I would have expected the cashier to ask the other one to make the sandwich for him so he could continue serving other people but that didn't happen and I didn't expect the Tim Hortons cashier to think of that.

Thoughts?
Am I right that the cashiers take the order and make the sandwiches?

If so, I don't think this is that big of a deal. Instead of having one cashier tied up twice as long, you have twice the cashiers tied up half as long.

There's likely a bit of wasted time in ringing up 2 bills, but likely only 20-30 seconds.
