Here's my 2 cents...Take it for what it's worth.

20 categories seems like too many. With 30 teams, that's 600 picks. If we average 50 picks a week (which I'd think is higher than we can realistically expect), it'll take at least 12 weeks to get through it all, which takes us past Thanksgiving. I think 15 categories should be the maximum.

Also, it seems like too many small genres, with a lot of overlap between them. I'd prefer to keep the genres more broadly defined, which would also give people more freedom with their picks. I think it'd be interesting to see someone attempt to do an "All Sci-Fi" or an "All Western" team.

Also, rather than Made outside the USA, I'd like to see a Non-English category, and because most of us are Canadian, a Made in Canada category (or even a Made in Alberta, since there have been quite a few).

Here's a list of categories that I think would generate some interesting teams...
  1. pre-1960
  2. 1960s
  3. 1970s
  4. 1980s
  5. 1990s
  6. 2000s
  7. Best Picture/Screenplay (Oscar, Golden Globes, Cannes, Sundance)
  8. Drama
  9. Comedy
  10. Animated
  11. Documentary
  12. Black & White
  13. Non-English language
  14. Made in Canada
  15. Wild Card
