IE, that Light Lime beer at 4.2 wouldn't 8.4 up here, it would be 2.1, which is right dead on for an American light beer.
American beer is pretty weak, unless you find imports you are used to from other places. From my experiences, my friends experiences, and serving american customers (what do you put in your beer up here? ) when I worked at a golf course and other places, I've only had evidence to support that.

Beer isn't measured by Proof in the US, its measured by ABW.
3.2% ABW = ~4% ABV. 3.9% ABW = ~5% ABV. Its the same thing. American beer isn't any different. The only difference is perception based on ABW v. ABV, and maybe altitude.
As for Bud Light Lime... still no sightings. No Miller Chill either.
