The most comfortable pair of pants I ever wore were sunproof. Columbia has a great line. In fact I'm more comfortable and cooler wearing full pants than I am in shorts.
In addition, if you buy the spray on sunscreen you might actually use less. I know I do, and it goes on quicker, and more evenly.
