Yeah the same thought crossed my mind at that point too.
All I know right now is that this movie is going to be almost impossible to follow up. I can't really see any character being better than the joker was in the Dark Knight. Whatever character is next, the actor has to follow an iconic performance by someone who died young. Its a no win situation. Also, they probably can't just make another character act as disturbing as the Joker again, because it'll just seem like they followed up with the same formula. Nolan is screwed for the next one.
