Not a chance. When we lived in Calgary, we temporily had skunks under our front steps. We never knew that but our neighbor's dog informed us

Anyhow, we phoned the animal bylaw officers, they set up traps etc and said, put lots of mothballs under the steps and keep it wet there. Multiple bags of mothballs never helped one iota, those skunks were there for 3 weeks, finally they moved on to the next door neighbors front steps. I think it was mainly all the water we put under the steps that deterred them.
