Ok, I'm going to ask one of the left lane slow traffic people this question. The other day I was driving down a road with no lights, and clearly 4 lane. Two cars had the two pole positions, and were sticking right around 57 in a 60 zone. Finally one car realized he needed to turn and hit the brakes to get behind the left lane slow guy.
I took that opportunity to pass on the right, getting past everybody. Now the left lane slow poke is following me at 80, and then when we get onto an 80 zone he is following me at 110. (I don't always go that fast, but instinctively I speed up when somebody is behind me.)
My question is, why does somebody do that? Do they have no ability to drive on their own and must follow a pack or something? I just don't get it.
