Speaking of second-rate actors, I don't know about the cast for this one... pretty shallow beyond Bale, with a lot of people who have worked mostly in TV, and a couple who have had one great performance and a bunch of mediocre ones (Brolin in No Country, Howard in The Village).
As far as the story goes, I've never thought that the Terminator franchise was particularly original, and so I've never had high expectations for it's storytelling. So this is probably why I wasn't as disappointed in T3 as most people. But if they're going with Bale, they might as well pay some attention to character development this time around; given how well all of the recent blockbusters have handled character development (Iron Man, Batman Begins, even Spiderman before the 3rd in that franchise), it's something that this one will be measured against.
