Not important, but it's a black bear, just coloured brown
Only Black and Grizzly inhabit this area. I'd much rather have a Black bear in front of me than a Brown
Walking away slowly is fine, but yeah don't run. There's a whole bunch of rules that the experts say to do, but I don't think I'd remember any of them if I came face to face. And there are different rules when it's Black or Grizzly. But it's always better to let them hear you coming than be surprised by you up close. Good thing you didn't have to sacrifice your dog
