We had a huge nest under our front steps to the point where we were nervous to use the front door. Tried Raid and such a couple of times with almost no effect as we couldn't hit the actual thing.
On a whim I decided to try the shop vac. I plugged up all their exits, but one, and set the hose right by the last exit. Took about 30 minutes, but I sucked up over 300 of them. Made a little 'thounk' noise each time I got one. Pretty incredible buzzing from the bag when they were all in there.
When I was done, I capped the end of the hose with a plastic bag and left it in the shed for a couple of days for them to 'dry out'.
Two years and none have returned.
