The only thing that could have an effect, is Apple essentially pulling the iPhone completely from canada. Which I would be fine with, until Rogers comes up with a decent data plan.

Well, if consumers actually refrain from buying the darn thing that would be good.
There is no phone out on the market in Canada that has all the same features that the iPhone has. I know because I'm desperately trying to find a decent substitute since I really don't want to give Roger's my money. Because of this fact (and not because it's "pretty"), I think Roger's is in a very good position to charge whatever they want. Thing is, Roger's functions in a near monopoly, rendering most "market forces" mute. The only way to hurt Roger's on this is to not buy a GSM phone in Canada at all. Given how ty the phones on Bell/Telus are, it's kinda hard to do that.
Thing is, even Apple couldn't change Roger's plans. All Apple will care about is that it is seen as the benevolent style god that is being abused by the evil mobility company. It's total PR and marketing and it's so transparent it's awe inspiring.
