To be clear, I was speaking specifically of
public wifi. The different carriers each have their own brand of public wifi setup at various places throughout the country...
In Calgary, and on Rogers, this means Second Cup locations.
As it relates to the iPhone...
With the agreement of a 3 year contract, from Rogers, on an iPhone, you are granted free access to their public wifi spots (see above). If you wish to use public wifi at other places in the city, you will have to pay for it (unless it's being offered free, of course).
Again, note that this is only for
public wifi... what you do in your own home or office with a wireless router that you have access to, is completely free and of your own accord.
