Default Skills Debate

I know that this should be in the suggestions forum, but it's such a low traffic area that I'm posting it here to give this thread a little more exposure...

I'm wondering what the status is with the skills program. I've noticed that nobody really seems to have moved in either direction lately. Was that the idea? A poster solidifies him/herself as a red or blue, 1, 2, 3 square poster? Are mods desensitized to good posting and bad posting?

Do people like the skill program? ken mentioned in the ignore thread that the site doesn't want to discuss elitist/popularity type stuff... Is skill not exactly that (sorry ken, just asking)?

I personally don't care about my skill level and I don't regard other peoples' skill level as something important, though I have taken notice a couple of times at (what seems like) extreme skill levels whether it was red or blue.

Maybe I don't pay too much attention to it because I know this site so well that I automatically pay attention to posters I'm familiar with.

I have to admit that even though I claim to not care about skill, I do put a little more thought into the wording of my posts unless I'm really riled up. I guess that was part of the idea behind the program.

So can we have a discussion on this or will I get lambasted for bringing it up?!?

And note to all blue squared posters: this thread will probably get locked if anyone complains about the circumstances surrounding their status.

I'm just curious on what everyone thinks about the skills thing...
