Believe me I have tried. They are really smart though and not easy to shoot. Growing up on a ranch in southern Alberta. When the trees around our house would be full of them. I would go get the shot gun, when I came out of the house they would all be gone. First one I ever shot was with a .22. Shot it from inside the house through a hole in the screen of one of the windows. The only other time you have a chance, is when they are young and have just left the nest. Other than that it is almost impossible to get a clean shot at one.
