Long story short here.
I put a deposit down at a Saturn dealership for them to locate a 2007 Mazda 3 for me, because the one I was going to look at sold a couple of hours before I got there.
I gave them all the specs that I wanted (most of them being on the original vehicle), for the same price as the original vehicle, and they said they would locate the vehicle for me, pending a $500 deposit.
So I gave them the deposit (I know, I know, not the smartest) and went in yesterday to take a look at the car.
It was the color I wanted (I asked for a dark exterior) but I SPECIFICALLY asked for a dark interior (being wary of stains), but the car has a beige interior. Not only is it beige, but there are already many stains inside the car, something the dealership said they would take care of. Anyway, they acted all surprised that I wanted a dark interior when we had already agreed to this in writing.
Also, the car doesn't have cruise control on it (the original vehicle had been advertised as having cruise control, which is why I negotiated it into the price), and the back two tires are more worn than the front two (little tread depth left) AND are different tires. So, I asked the dealership to put in the cruise control and new back tires in for me, at THEIR cost.
So, basically right now they aren't budging on either but they gave me the whole "we'll call you on Monday" thing.
I haven't signed any car contract. The only thing that I signed was something "pending customer approval" and of course I gave over the deposit.
Do you think I should be able to ask for my deposit back?
