I'm not assuming anything.
An off-duty police officer told me that at least in his district they don't recycle batteries, and as much as he knew none of them did. So forget the other districts. Speaking for his one district alone would account for about 10,000 dollars worth of batteries in a year.
This is everything from vehicles to walkie talkies to computers to watches...
If it is true, its disgusting.
