Sure that is true that a hardware firewall can be more secure than a software based firewall but for the best security I would probably use both. Most people aren't going to be able to afford or know enough to get a hardware based firewall. It's best to use both really but if you can get something for free such as Zone Alarm is better then using nothing. In the end you're never going to be completely safe.
