It is a like a great song that gets played so much on the radio that you begin to hate it.

Tiger is a phenomenal player and wonderful to see the shots he comes up with; but I get frustrated when he isn't in contention and they still follow his every shot. I understand why the networks do it. But personally, unless Tiger is in contention or making a run, I would rather see the guys who are fighting for the lead.

So it isn't Tiger that bug me, it is the amount of coverage he gets. It is the same with any celebrity who gets over-exposed.
Don't blame Tiger for that, blame the rest of the PGA for not providing him with a proper challenge.

No one has emerged in the last 10 years in golf that is good enough or has an engaging enough personality to draw even away a bit of the spotlight.

Golf has been STARVED for someone to step up to challenge Tiger. It hasn't happened. The closest is Lefty and he does indeed get his fair of coverage.

After that though - who else is there?

Golf is actually REALLY lacking star power right now outside Tiger, and his absence will either highlight that fact, or give someone the opportunity to get a piece of the action.

None of that though is Tiger's fault.
