Yes, it's a physical keyboard that's always there not an on-screen keyboard like the iPhone.
I actually prefer a physical keyboard to the touch screen one, but I don't do enough emails on device to see the touch screen keyboard as a huge detractor.

And do all those things you can do on an iPod touch anywhere without having to be near a wifi point. I hardly ever use the wifi on my touch outside of the office or home because I almost can never find an open network.
