Dobermans and German Sheppards can have aggresive traits, but they are mentally much more stable and intelligent then a Pit Bull. There's a reason they are used by Police Departments around the world...they can be counted on to be stable and make consistent decisions. All of these dogs need to be trained properly, but there is no way either of these dogs snap as much as a pit bull.
