I know that... I just wasn't sure if it applies to CDMA phones or not. GSM phones are activated through the SIM card, but CDMA are through the carrier... so, to finish that thought, my assumption has always been that since you have to activate a CDMA device through the carrier (and can't "unlock" it from that carrier), you are probably also locked into using vendor-specific updates.

I know all about flexing/modding GSM phones, I've just never bothered with CDMA stuffs.
