Not to derail the thread (though it seems like its headed this way), but I definitely agree that there are problems with first nations in Canada. I lived in northwest BC surrounded by a few reserves and saw it first hand. I also now work with the emergency services and experience some things through that as well.
There's no doubt in my mind that a lot of people feel that the stereotypes are based on the truth (and I'll be the first to say that defining a contributing member of society is near impossible) but I was only speaking on the 90% figure....that is all.
