I just got back to Canada from living in Boston and I can say that Sam Adams isn't that great. There are a number of varieties, though, so maybe he had a particular one in mind? Summer Lager perhaps?

I'm pretty sure they sell it in Ontario at The Beer Store, but I don't know about Alberta. If you can't find it, take my word for it, you're not missing that much.
