In boxing, it's a boxer who commits crimes. In MMA, it could easily be some criminal who just happens to hold his own outside of the bar.

There are tons of BJJ and Muay Thai fighters that have been training since they were that young. As well as wrestlers. Just because your MMA knowledge is gleaned from CNN and that spectacle on the weekend doesn't mean you are expert.
