I am very interested in becoming a network analyst, but I have virtually no networking experience. I have a B.Comm from the U of C in Management of Information Systems. That degree did nothing for me. SAIT has a fast track program for Networking, but the cost is $15,000.
I spoke to a Network Specialist who works for Shaw and she advised me that instead of taking the SAIT program I should buy a CCNA Intro book and study that. According to her, once I have the CCNA certificate I should have no problem obtaining a Network Analyst position.
I have been looking around the Cisco website and there are 2 ways to obtain the CCNA cert. I can take the
640-802 CCNA exam or take both
640-822 ICND1 and
640-822 ICND2 exams.
The question I have is, would reading just the book be enough to pass the exam and what book should I buy? I have read many reviews and so far the book that has the most positive reviews is Todd Lammle's
CCNA: Cisco Certified Network Associate Study Guide: Exam 640-802
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
