Its actually a story that's played out in hundreds if not thousands of instances in North America every week . . . . the decision to accept death either made by yourself or made by others for you.

This case simply became well known because others outside the family saw it as an opportunity to push an agenda into the public eye using her as a prop.

But the decision to withdraw life support from someone is very, very common.

In the 14 days it took Terry Schiavo to die, similar decisions were probably made in quieter circumstances by hundreds or thousands of families.
