The second they do this, there will be a guide up somewhere on how to "hack/mod/config" your STB to disable this "feature".
It's a shame it may come down to that, but I paid over $500 for my PVR for the specific reason of recording any shows that I have access to.... I'm justified in this, I've been breaking the law for the last 20 years with my VCR anyways.
