yes/no
I think he or Belfour should have won it because they were the two best SIM players throughout the playoffs. The Hurricanes fell one goal short in the 7th game (3rd period goal).... Heatley was the Canes leading scorer and theres no question he would have had a huge inpact of any chance the 'Canes had in winning.
All Playoffs long I heard about how bad OV wise the 'Canes were, that it was Dany Heatley and a bunch of pylons. I have zero problems with a Shark player winning... Belfour was amazing all playoffs. The only reason Neids won was because he's a great NHL player and that alone. He played no better then Suter on my team. He won the award on his great play around the puck and not the scoresheet. it's too bad this is a sim league that runs on stats and not something that we can watch and enjoy someones smooth play.
I more get the feeling some people just voted for the best OV player from the sharks rather then voting for who they thought was the mvp of the playoffs. Should heatley have won... who knows, I honestly can see one of four players but the fact that he picked up 4 votes out of 31... I really wonder how much it would change and how many votes Neids would have got if it was Kilger that scored in the 3rd rather then the Sharks. Who scored that one goal in the 7th game of the Stanley Cup shouldn't overhaul the whole voting results...
The award should go to the best sim players play playoffs not just the best name on the team that won. Nieds was a great defenceman no question but it's not like he was ahead of the pack of the other D... and so much so that he outshined the 3 other forwards and 1 goalie.... hell honestly did he really outplay the Canes back up goalie
