A few items to take from this to try and make some good come from so much bad:

- Everybody remember to hug your loved ones a little more tonight, and every night.

- Guys; it's OK to ask for help. So many times we adopt a locker room mentality of "suck it up." In relationships that isn't the best way to handle it. If you are not comfortable confiding in a friend or a family member, then there are other places available to help you out. Just had a look and found one number for a distress centre for men. Their number is (403)266-HELP/4357. Website is http://www.distresscentre.com/Default.aspx

- If you do find yourself thinking there is no way out, then stop, think of how this event turned out. Remember this incident, and that no matter how bad this family's problems were, now they are a lot worse for a lot more people.
