There are very prominant Chinese, Indian, Honduran, and Vietnamese organized crime groups in BC - I know that for a fact.
Even when I lived in Thunder Bay, there was a mafia related incident. A 12 year old went missing and was later discovered dead and buried on his family property. After the investigation, it came out that the father borrowed money from the mafia to run his business, when he forfeited, they killed his son and dropped the body off at his home. |
I don't think the dispute is whether or not organized crime exists in Canada, it's whether or not they perpetrated this horrendous act. Obviously until more info comes out we have no idea what happened.
