Are you from Nanaimo? I grew up there. I have a friend who lives in a nice older part of Nanaimo, not slummy at all, they have a nice huge yard, and next door to them is a crack house. It's really nice, with torn curtains for windows, freaky people coming and going. They don't usually all get up till around 8 p.m. One guy sits in the living room window all night and just stares. Another guy pops his head out the carport door every time you pull in. One night it was especially nice to see 2 crack heads making out on the top of the couch in the living room! Nanaimo is trying to make bylaws regarding these kinds of houses though.
