We stayed at the Queen Victoria downtown and would go out every night and find something new each time. There was a lot to do in such a small area. You can easily spend a couple hours each night watching the street performers and the talent is actually as good as you will find in San Francisco or other major cities. Beacon Park, Oak Bay (drooling over the mansions) , the Underwater Garden just to see the octapus alone was worth the small admission, wax museum was ok, government buildings were government buildings but not a bad place to sit on the stairs and watch the sun set. I really enjoyed this band that was playing on government street for coins. They were all playing drums but it was really catchy and this summer I am going to pick up their CD when we go back as it was a very unique sound. Lot's of down town pubs if thats your thing and the thing with Victoria is to just go out and start walking around as you will find something that gets your attention!
