I've read some British papers that say he is a bit unhappy, especially with his family in the UK and the schedule so long for US dramas. Hugh Laurie refuses to move his family over because he's convinced the show will be cancelled the moment he does. Stephen Fry also says Hugh Laurie hates doing the voice and never watches any episode of House after filming because he thinks he is boring and can't stand seeing it.
I don't hate House, I just think that the show needs to properly use his talents. Some more piano playing, guitar play, some more comedy/fantasy scenes... instead of him yelling about his pain and lupus over and over with a mouthful of medical jargon is what I'd want. I want the show to make more of the character. We're going into Season 4 now and nothing has really changed on the show aside from a swap of his assistants, it's just so formuliac.
