Then it goes on to say that mormons have been allowed to drink Cola (and other soft drinks) all along. They could have fooled me. I'm down here in the Lethbridge area, where there are plenty mormons that have told me in the past "no thanks, I can't drink that" when I offer a Coke.
At the bottom of the article it lists a few of the "frowned upon" substances like coffee, tea, tobacco, alcohol etc. So what is it in coffee that makes it forbidden? Could it be the caffiene content? I didn't think a harmless coffee bean could be so bad. I smell a rat here.
When did "may indeed" become evidence for anything? If you are quoting an article, why not provide a link to it?

If you read my prior posts, you'll see that some members drink coke and others don't. As far as I can tell it has only been suggested that we should avoid it, but it is not a commandment or anything. The fact that you know a mormon who drank coke... proves nothing. I'm sure someone could also find a mormon who has killed someone or done some other horrible act. Does that mean we preach that killing is good? Mormons aren't perfect. Does that make them hypocrites? Only if they claim they are incapable of ever making a mistake. I doubt anyone will ever openly make that claim.

There are valid reasons to not like Mormonism, concerns over pepsi and coke?... well sorry... keep trying.
