Mormons have their own creed which doesn't recognize the Trinity. Historically they didn't call themselves Christians because they seen Christians to have a polluted faith;one which was corrupted over time. It has only been in the last twenty years that Mormons have taken up the title "Christian".
Having said that I'm not offended if they do.

Mormons believe in the Father, and in the Son and in the Holy Ghost as separate and distinct personages. While this does not strictly adhere to the Nicene creed, I do not think by any stretch it disqualifies them from the title Christian, since they are still followers of Christ. However, if you feel it does then that is fine with me.
