Coldplay are a decent band who are in a tough spot right now...they are built up by the media to be this big name act that has defined an era of music..yet they don't have the talent to actually push any boundaries like a U2 or Radiohead has done. Their best attribute is their simplicity and their melodies, but now they seem to want to push the envelope with some new dynamic...and it isn't working..their last album had some really bad stuff on it (some pretty good songs too), and their new single is atrocious. They are trying to hard to right now, and the music is suffering. But I guess if they continued to make music like thier first 2 albums, people would trash them for repeating themselves. So what do they do? Coldplay are a good band with some good stuff but in my eyes they never should've been lumped in with the cream of the crop bands...because they aren't.
