I was just in Beirut, 3 weeks ago.

I've been google mapping locations where fighting has erupted vs where we were. We were in the Place D'Etoiles, about 1.5 miles from all of the fighting, maybe even closer than that. I've since learned the fighting is all along the "green line" that demarcs East (christian) and West Beirut (muslim). The green line is close to the Place D'detoiles which is why they had cordoned off that place fiercely to all but the few tourists that were there....

Quite sad actually. Beirut is a beautiful city, and it's a shame that the Zionists, Syrians, Iranians, and Americans are all playing puppeteer there. When you are there, and talking to people from all factions, you get a sense of how much each side believes in its cause and how committed they are. No one is "right" there.
