No, I don't keep sugar in my bedroom. Going to pass on the lemon juice treatment. I think the ants are living in the wall, as opposed to outside, so I'm not sure if boiling water will work. The locals kept 2 of those as pets in Guyana. They were bizzarly friendly for a giant animal with huge claws. Well as long as you didn't get in between the male and its mate.
