In Japan you're pretty much guilty if it goes to court so they force you to take a settlement.

That would definitely be an interesting film to watch; I'm going to buy it online later today I'm so intrigued.

False accusations are few and far between though in Japan; even if the guy is guilty, the vast majority of women will not risk challenging the status quo and stick out like a sore thumb; they will keep quiet about it.

Japan's legal system is far from perfect; although it should be fair to mention that repentance is often times the only way a case will be closed; guilt is bestowed upon the perpetrator, and the case is not solved until he apologizes to himself, the victim, and society in general.
