I'm basically looking into putting up 2 flag mounts, one on either side of my garage door. The thing is, I want quality equipment that is going to last. Has anyone done this and do you have any suggestions?

Have already priced several flags and they are extremely affordable. Can't wait to get them flying for various occasions or just my standard everyday scheme I have in mind.
PERSONALLY, I'm not a fan of flying flags. I think it looks kinda tacky and I don't see the need for such a bold statement. A small flag in your house? Sure, but I don't understand the need to put up flags outside.

I have a different feeling of nationalism and patriotism than most people though. I don't agree with removing my hat for the national anthem because I don't feel that it's necessary to show to everybody that I'm grateful and happy to live in this country, even though I am...I also don't like the religious connotations associated with removing a hat.

I don't think national anthems should be played in sports, unless they're international events. If Calgary and Edmonton are playing, I don't really see the need to have the national anthem. I think it's beautiful to see two major pro Canadian teams playing, so why is it necessary to embellish the symbolism by trumpeting the anthem before the game. I am perfectly happy to quietly observe two teams go at it without a nationalist even to precede it.

That said, I think I'm extremely lucky to live in Canada and I'm very grateful for that, but I don't see the need to show off every chance I get. I don't like seeing anybody flaunt what or who they are, and I don't think patriotism should be any different.
