It is now illegal for adults in Canada to have sex with a partner under the age of 16, one of the new provisions of the Tories' violent crime law that came into effect on Thursday.

Interesting, it seems like a reasonable compromise to me. Raises the age of consent but recognizes that kids still mess around sometimes and isn't going to ruin the life of some dumb teenager over one incident.
