16 square feet or exactly half the size of a piece of 3/4 floor plywood or 3/8 wall sheathing. I doubt you'd want them too much bigger if you are putting two up on the fron of your garage. You'd look like a Yank with the wrong flag if you had anything bigger than that. [/b][/quote]
Hmmm... I just went downstairs to see & it appears that my estimate was wrong. I now peg the size of the flag at more like 6" x 3"

Its a perfect size flag, quality enough for outdoor use. I believe that that is what they are for.
