Just make sure you work safe and don't assume anything. There are lots of ways to get hurt in a machine shop if you don't know what to look for. Get some steel toe boots. Make sure you aren't wearing jewelery or loose clothing. And don't be afraid to hit the big red button if something looks wrong. Its way easier to reset a machine from an emergency stop then it is to fix whatever went wrong after you crash the machine. And "if in doubt, ask". And get some Visine after work. If you've never been in a machine shop before there is a good chance you'll feel like you have rocks in your eyes tomorrow night.
